From an EW perspective, looks like a 5 wave down-move completed from 638 to 588 levels....isnt it ?

it could be but these 3rd waves puzzle -here I think 3rd wave has its own subdivisions. sometimes cunting 5 waves is not done & you are taken for surprise so traditional analysis helps you a lot at that very moment.
