The golden time for the market is ahead of us & not behind us!

These are tough & stressful times both in India & worldwide. As if the pain of lockdown (which is absolutely necessary & in all likelihood will be extended) is not enough, many are faced with the prospect of either salary cuts or layoffs. It's very easy to feel down & depressed. But testing times like these demand even more focus as an investment expert just recently mentioned "The virus will go & so will the opportunity" Some of you would have seen your portfolio bleed profusely to such an extent that they begin to wonder that they should never have invested in Equity. Let me share an interesting virtual experience. Many of you would be aware of an app called DSIJ (Virtual Stock Market Challenge) I happened to download it out of curiosity. There are more than 2.43 lakh participants. Most of the times, there used to be a (time) lag in order execution & it got frustrating after a few days. So I stopped virtual trading on it & instead passively bought into a stock with the virtual cash. While with the market correction, the stock too corrected significantly & it reflected in the Portfolio value & I too had stopped tracking it daily. Today when the markets rallied significantly, I just happened to open the app late in the evening & to my pleasant surprise found my user name (It's the same user name there too- Bajrangi Bhaijaan) as ranked number 1 for the day. Mind you, that the virtual portfolio is still in the red overall in line with the market. But the selected stock will certainly do well as & when things improve. The intent behind sharing the above is there's nothing to be disheartened about investing in equity if your selected stocks are correct. While it may sound ridiculous in these tough times when people all around are talking of recession, but I still feel we are in a structural bull market & the current phase will ultimately turn out to be just a correction in it. Lockdown may ultimately turn out to be a case of blessing in disguise where some of you might get more time to study the market. There are no shortcuts in life & no substitute to hard work. This is specially true in the stock market for those who are there on a full time basis. I see many of my fellow friends logged in into trading view late into the night busy with their preparation for the next day. So let me end this by saying "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" Trust me friends, the best for the stock market is yet to come. On that optimistic note, let me end this by wishing you a long & a happy weekend. Stay safe.
