Your logic is somewhat right, but instead of showing 2 separate charts, you could have used the "compare" option to add both the charts on the same screen. It provides better visualization. Also, if you are interested in reading about Nifty vs DXY, you can check this post of mine where I have marked the correlation along with the coefficients.
