Prospect Capital is a financial services company that primarily lends to and invests in middle market privately-held companies. Co. invests primarily in senior and subordinated debt and equity of private companies in need of capital for acquisitions, divestitures, growth, development, recapitalizations and other purposes. Co. focuses on making investments in companies with annual revenues of less than $750.0 million and enterprise values of less than $1.00 billion. Co. also acquires controlling interests in companies in conjunction with making secured debt investments in such companies. In most cases, companies in which Co. invests are privately held at the time it invests in them.
