S&P 500 Index (SPX) Crash Getting Closer Short

S&P 500SP

Description

Nothing has changed from my last update, the S&P 500 Index (SPX) continues on track to breakdown... This index will crash.

Last time we looked at past history and divergence to "predict" this upcoming drop. Today, we are going to be looking at the MACD.

Here is a screenshot:

  • First we have the histogram going in favor of the bears. You can see it changing from green to red.
  • The next signal is the bearish crossover. See the MACD line crossing down the signal line. This is a bearish signal.

The above signals only add up to our previous analysis. I believe that the S&P 500 Index (SPX) will crash.

Conditions for change: For this analysis to be invalidated, the SPX needs to continue moving up and break above its all time high.

What's your take on the S&P 500 Index?

Triple top and divergence developing in major indices- Dow 30 and also transports lagging. Russell bearish. FAANGs carry the market higher with no breadth. Exhaustion gap IMO.

@DaddySawbucks, Agreed.

Just mentioned the triple top here:

@alanmasters, Shaping up like a double-double top. Futures up but volume in them is half normal- fewer buyers in the nosebleed zone:
AlanSantana
@DaddySawbucks, Yup, that is how it is all looking.

Like I said last time, it is too early to short the market and still people want to short an uptrending market which is running on borrowed time.
AlanSantana
@gvoommen, My intention is to let people know that it will fall.

@alanmasters, apparently, given all historical analogies going back to the 1950s provide less than 20% chance that it will fail here given the time already spent over 200 dma... that aside, i'm in complete agreement with your analysis.

F.A did not confirm your T.A, Let see next week!

From 26 December 2018, everyone is saying it will crash today, tomorrow, bla, bla, bla...obviously nothing has happened.
AlanSantana
@gvoommen, I will post a new update soon. More weakness is showing up, we are looking at a triple top now.

It hasn't crashed but it isn't moving up either.

Give it time and you will see.

Thanks for the comment.
