Sell in May and go away works only in normal times. The phrase means that the trading desks are minimally manned while everyone is out on holiday. That does not apply in an economy when no one is going on holiday.
@AF_D, maybe not long trip, but everyone needs a vacation or staycation at least. School is going to be out soon and things are opening up, and most importantly this is a good level to sell, IMO. So, we will see.

Why everyone likes May?
The causes of previous sell offs are different. This could be pretty much V shaped recovery.
If you look at the any tech company, they haven't shown any significant downtrend expect for few days and recovered back quickly and become more stronger and how much they valued during these uncertain days. In the modern era of new Tech and innovation we may actually don't see a great depression unless its a natural disaster like this.
