@alanmasters, I'm a noob at all this. I seem to be okay with picking the right ones based on the charts (my choices had a lot of cross over with yours). My problem is the timing. I always seem to get in out too early or in too late.
I'm just never really sure when to use a stop loss or set a price target.

@roundhead322, Try stepping back and learning the basics.
Build your plan/strategy before buying and your problem will be solved.
If you don't know what that is...
Stop trading, study... and then get back in once you do what to do exactly what you need to do, where to sell or where/when to set your stop-loss.

@roundhead322, setting a stop loss is very crucial to your process. If you are not willing to lose or let go then this type of business is not for you :) Trust me. I learned it the hard way also but maybe you don't have to, I hope so.
