oil recently broke down from a rising wedge, i find this extremely bearish

You are absolutely right! I see this, but I think that crudeoil is still in an intact uptrend. WTI is one of the most volatile markets with nerve straining overshootings.
Maybe you are right - we will see...

Besides that, a movement up is likely now. Then we have to decide, if there's an uptrend or only a correction pattern structure.
