XAUUSD — 4100 Sweep or 4286 Trap?
Gold is still trading under pressure.
After rejecting the higher range around 4,286 - 4,350, price broke down hard and created a lower structure near the 4,100 - 4,125 reaction base. That area is important because it is sitting near the recent buy-side reaction zone, but I don’t want to call this a clean reversal yet.
The bigger trend is still bearish.
Gold is still below the declining trendline, and the recovery attempts are weak. Every bounce so far is only moving inside a lower structure, not a real shift in control. With oil headlines, US data, sticky yield pressure, and USD strength still affecting sentiment, buyers need more confirmation before this bounce becomes serious.
Current price is around 4,158.
The first short-term level is 4,177 - 4,195. If gold reclaims this area, price can push toward 4,240 first. But the real trap zone is higher around 4,286. That is where the declining trendline and previous breakdown area can attract sellers again.
Main view: bearish while gold stays below 4,286.
Main Zone: 4,100 - 4,125
First Target: 4,177 - 4,195
Trap Zone: 4,286
Major Liquidity: 4,329 - 4,350
Invalidation: strong hold above 4,286
If gold sweeps below 4,100 and quickly reclaims, buyers may create a short reaction back toward 4,195 - 4,286.
But if 4,177 - 4,195 rejects, sellers can push price back into 4,125 - 4,100 again.
For now, this looks like a weak recovery under a bearish trendline.
Do you think gold reclaims 4,195 first, or sweeps 4,100 before the real move?
