About

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) is the only exchange in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, one of the smallest sovereign states in Europe. It was founded in 1928 and inaugurated its first trading session in 1929. Despite the limited size of the country, the exchange is home to more than 37,000 securities - most of which are debt instruments - thanks to its core focus on international markets' listings.

LuxSE has multiple agreements with other market exchanges: one of them allowed it to become the 1st exchange in Europe to list a dim sum bond, a renminbi-denominated bond issued outside of China. Another one, with the EIB (European Investment Bank), has made LuxSE the first issuer of a green bond in Europe and a leader in that market. In 1999, it launched its main stock index, called LuxX, which consists of nine Luxembourgish companies. Its total market cap amounts to approximately $58 billion.
