OpenText Hires Former HPE Executive Sandy Ono as CMO, Names Michael Acedo Chief Legal Officer

OpenText (NASDAQ and TSX: OTEX), which provides cloud-based information management software, said on Monday it has appointed Sandy Ono as Chief Marketing Officer with immediate effect.

The company also promoted Michael Acedo to Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, and Doug Parker to Executive Vice President of Corporate Development.

All three executives will report to CEO Mark J. Barrenechea, OpenText said.

Acedo and Parker will succeed Gordon A. Davies, who is currently the Chief Legal Officer and EVP of Corporate Development and has decided to retire effective September.

Ono joins OpenText from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where she most recently served as Vice President of Growth Marketing. Prior to HPE, she has worked with Deloitte and the Walt Disney Company. Ono holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Acedo joined OpenText in 2014 from the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. At OpenText, he most recently served as the General Counsel-Corporate and Corporate Secretary. Parker has worked with OpenText for over a decade.
