India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 10 a.m. IST

STOCKS:

The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX rose 380.05 points, or 0.63%, to 60,473.02, while the broader NSE index NIFTY added 62.5 points, or 0.35%, to 17,957.35 lifted by oil and gas stocks after the federal government cut a windfall tax on crude oil, though gains were capped by an ongoing selling streak by foreign investors.

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee USDINR weakened 0.19% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 81.76 per dollar as the greenback broadly rebounded and Asian currencies weakened.

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

Benchmark 10-year bond (IN072632G=CC) was quoted at 99.44 rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.3409%; vs previous close of 7.3283% as traders awaited supply through the sale of debt from states.

OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:

The one-year overnight indexed swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was up 1 bp at 6.66%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) stayed fixed at 6.21%.

CALL MONEY/REPOS:

India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was up 20 bps at 6.30% against 6.10% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.22%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.0486%.
