Futures Exchange Sessions 3.0

E-mini S&P 500 Futures (Sep 2022)CME

Description

Description

The ultimate conclusion to the Futures Exchange Sessions 2.0 indicator. In version 3.0 the user gets full control of the start and end times of three separate dynamic boxes and one horizontal line. If the user wants to visually keep track of killzones, lunches, or any other time span in a trading day, version 3.0 will dynamically expand and keep track of price within the time specified by the user.

Inputs and Style

Everything about the three dynamic boxes and one horizontal line can but independently configured. Color, style, border, width can all be adjusted. In the Settings each box has a text box so the user can give each one a unique name.

Timezone

All of the start and end times are in EST. Additionally, each box and line need a dependent start of each day. This is controlled by a setting where the user can specify a timezone called Start Day Timezone which would be midnight of the respective timezone. In general if a box or line resides within a particular Session pick the corresponding timezone. If the users box/line fits in the Asian Session then choose Asia/Shanghai. If the box/line is within the London Session then choose Europe/London. And the same goes for the New York Session.

Special Notes

  • If start time is within one period of the Start Day Timezone in the Settings, then the line/box won't display
  • Boxes and time lines only display when timeframe is <= 30 minute
  • To turn off box text label set opacity to 0%

I have been using TradingView for YEARS looking for exactly this. Why do I only found this now in 2023??? I tried a bunch of other "sessions" indicators, even tried to have ChatGPT write it for me... Anyways, extremely pleased to have found it. Thank you so much for making this and sharing the code. I am very grateful.

Only thing I could ask at this point would be to make it work on the hourly chart. Not sure why it has to be forced <60mn. I tried to duplicate it and edit the code by entering <61 hoping it'd work but it didn't and I don't understand coding well enough to make it work.

In any case thank you, wish you a grand day, and here's to hoping you have it in you to make one final edit to make it work on H1.

Best from London :)

Edit after playing with the settings.

1/ I'm trying to capture the NY 17h00-23h59 time box on FX (= LO 22h00-04h59, ICT's "flout").
Using America/New_York 17h00-23h59 on any chart the current timebox bugs by extending to the left over multiple days. Weird. I played around, here's what I can report:
Things break if I include the first candle. On a m5 chart I need to set it up to start at 17h05, not 17h00. On a m15 it needs to start at 17h15. On a m30 17h30.

2/Also, while trying different settings (different time zone and adjusting the start time to match what I want) I can report that changing the time zone to Europe/London or Asia/Shanghai sometimes still uses the America/New_York time zone for calculations.
For instance I was trying to use Europe/London 22h00-23h59 (thinking I could stitch a second box from midnight to 04h59 to highlight the full time box I want) but this settings actually creates a timebox on the US time zone for those times. Same if I select Asia/Shanghai. All 3 time zones with this time setting highlight the same time period.

You focused only on the important congratulations

@Luis_Valderrama, Hahaha yep! That is why I mentioned this indicator was the "ultimate conclusion" to my Sessions indicator. The user gets full control! Thanks for using my indicator!

Hi and thanks!

Today it seems the indicator is broken at least on ESM2023 which is still the current contract...

Thank you for the amazing indicator. Do you have one that can show put a vertical line at midnight and show the opening price for midnight and 8:30 open? There is one on TV but it behaves funny on ESU2022 because it had only limited past data. It works fine on ES1!

@AdalWolf10, Try ICT MIDNIGHT and 8.30AM OPEN
