Gold Momentum Edge [H1] $Asligold$

Gold Momentum Edge Quantitative Pullback System $Asligold$
This indicator was built backwards from data starting with 20 years of raw XAUUSD price action and asking one question: what actually predicts gold next move?

█ THE RESEARCH
I analysed 5,200+ daily bars of gold price data spanning 2006–2026. Tested 28 different strategy models across 84 parameter combinations. Measured autocorrelation structures, volatility clustering, Hurst exponents, and forward return probabilities for dozens of price patterns.
Two findings stood out:
1. Gold has strong multi-bar momentum persistence // when it starts moving decisively, it tends to keep going. The Hurst exponent consistently reads above 0.5 across every 2-year rolling window, confirming gold behaves as a trending asset, not a mean-reverting one.
2. Single-day reversals are frequent // gold's day-to-day price action shows significant negative autocorrelation. After an up day, there's a higher-than-random chance the next day is down (and vice versa). This creates natural pullback opportunities within ongoing trends.
These properties trend persistence, short-term oscillation, and reversal-indicator failure create a specific exploitable edge: buying short pullbacks within established momentum moves.
█ HOW IT WORKS
The indicator identifies moments where gold has built genuine directional momentum over multiple bars, then pulls back briefly. This pullback is the entry not a reversal signal, but a re-entry into the prevailing trend at a better price.
Entry conditions combine:
→ Multi-bar momentum measurement (is price actually trending, or just chopping?)
→ Pullback quality assessment (is this a real dip or just noise?)
→ Trend alignment filter using a long-period moving average
→ Overextension guard (avoids entries when gold is stretched too far from its average the #1 cause of losses in our testing)
→ Momentum quality scoring (were the trending bars decisive or weak?)
The Sniper mode adds additional filters that were discovered during forensic analysis of losing trades reducing entries to only the highest-conviction setups.
█ TRADE MANAGEMENT (What Makes This Different)
STOP LOSS // ATR-based, adapts to current volatility. Tight when gold is calm, wider when it's volatile. Placed at a level where if price reaches it, the trade thesis is genuinely invalidated.
BREAKEVEN STOP// After price moves a defined distance in your favor, the stop automatically shifts to your entry price. This is the single most impactful feature in testing, it converted a significant portion of would-be losers into scratch trades. You'll see the SL line change from red to blue when this activates.
TRAILING STOP// Once breakeven is active, the stop begins following price upward (for longs). It ratchets higher and never comes back down. The SL line turns green when trailing is active. This lets winning trades run while locking in profit.
TAKE PROFIT// Set at a calculated R-multiple above entry. Based on analysis of maximum favorable excursion data from hundreds of historical trades.
STALE TRADE EXIT // If price doesn't reach the breakeven level within a set number of bars, the trade is closed early. This kills slow-bleed losers before they become full losses.
TIME EXIT // Hard cap on holding period. Trades that haven't resolved are closed. Prevents capital lockup.
█ WHAT YOU SEE ON CHART
Clean and minimal:
▲ Small triangle — entry signal
— Gray line — entry price level with floating text
— Red line — stop loss (with price label)
— Blue line — breakeven stop (after activation)
— Green line — trailing stop (when ratcheting up)
— Teal line — take profit level (with price label)
● Teal circle — TP hit
● Red circle — SL hit
✕ Small cross — stale or time exit
Every entry and exit shows the exact price as small text on the chart. Active trades show live SL/TP/Entry labels that update in real time. Label size is adjustable (Tiny/Small/Normal/Large) in settings for any screen size.
Compact dashboard in corner: win rate, W/L count, trade state, and momentum reading. Nothing else.
█ SETTINGS
Two modes:
• Sniper — strict filters, fewer trades, highest conviction
• Aggressive — core rules only, more frequent signals
Direction: Long Only (default, recommended) or Long + Short
All parameters are adjustable with tooltips explaining the research behind each default value. The defaults are optimized for H1 XAUUSD but work across multiple timeframes.
█ RECOMMENDED USAGE
Timeframe: H1 (primary), also works on H4 and Daily
Symbol: XAUUSD / Gold
Style: Intraday swing (trades typically resolve within 5–8 hours)
Alerts: 7 built-in alert conditions for entries, exits, and BE activation
█ IMPORTANT NOTES
• This is not financial advice. Trading gold involves significant risk of loss.
• Past performance does not guarantee future results.
• Always use proper position sizing and never risk more than you can afford to lose.
• Paper trade for at least 2-3 weeks before committing real capital.
• The strategy version is also published separately for backtesting and verification.
