It operates through the following segments: North America Solutions, Offshore Gulf of Mexico, International Solutions, and Other. The North America Solutions segment focuses on the operation of the AC drive drilling rig fleet. The Offshore Gulf of Mexico segment offers management contract services to customer platforms where the customer owns the drilling rig. The International Solutions segment includes Argentina, Colombia, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates. The Other segment includes an incubator program for research and development projects. The company was founded by Walter Hugo Helmerich II and William Payne in 1920 and is headquartered in Tulsa, OK.
