The U.S. Dollar Index (USDX, DXY, or USD Index) measures the value of the U.S. dollar relative to a basket of six major world currencies. These currencies are:
1. Euro (EUR) - 57.6% 2. Japanese Yen (JPY) - 13.6% 3. British Pound (GBP) - 11.9% 4. Canadian Dollar (CAD) - 9.1% 5. Swedish Krona (SEK) - 4.2% 6. Swiss Franc (CHF) - 3.6%
The index is used to gauge the international value of the U.S. dollar and is widely followed by traders and economists.
