DBEZ tracks an MSCI equity index that mirrors the performance of the entire Eurozone in the developed market, but uses forward currency contracts to neutralize direct exposure to the euro currency. Unlike some of its competitors, which hold only large and mid-caps, DBEZ aims to capture 99% of the Eurozone market, like our segment benchmark. The forward contracts portion in the fund is based on the aggregate exposure of the fund and underlying Index to the euro based on the beginning currency weights each month. The funds strategy should make it a good player as long as hedging costs remain minimal.
