TIPC is designed to provide periodic inflation linked distributions by investing in a ladder of US Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) maturing through 2045. The Fund spreads holdings across rungs, beginning with maturities from 2026 and extending through 2045, in approximately equal par amounts to generate distributions from income and principal as bonds reach maturity. Proceeds are not reinvested but instead distributed in cash, which may include a return of capital. While TIPC intends to remain primarily invested in TIPS, it may hold money market instruments for brief transition periods until reinvested evenly across the remaining rungs. Because TIPS link their principal to the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), they help preserve purchasing power, although yields are usually lower than those of standard fixed rate bonds. Once the 2045 rung matures, TIPC will liquidate and distribute nearly all of its assets.
