BMMI BSC engages in the wholesale and retail of food, beverages and other consumable items. It operates through the following segments: Retail Operations, Wholesales Operations, Contract Services and Supply, Hospitality, and Investments, Shipping, and Other Activities. The Retail Operations segment deals with the retail of food, beverages and other consumer products. The Wholesales Operations segment distributes food, beverages, and other products. The Contract Services and Supply segment refers to the contract supply of food and consumer products. The Hospitality segment includes the group’s hotel and restaurant business. The Investments, Shipping, and Other Activities segment is composed of investment properties, investments, shipping services, bank balances, and certain payables that are managed at a Group level. The company was founded in 1883 and is headquartered in Manama, Bahrain.
