IBTM is part of iShares' Treasury Term Bond suite. The fund tracks the performance of a held-to-maturity portfolio of US treasuries with maturities between January 1, 2032 and December 15, 2032. Instead of the perpetual maturity range of a typical bond fund, IBTM provides exposure to a specific maturity date, similar to an individual bond. As the fund approaches its maturity date, duration and YTM will continue to decline. On its target date December15, 2032, the fund will unwind remaining positions and return capital to shareholders. This structure permits the fund to be used as a building block for a bond ladder, or to plan for a future need.
