Indian lending giant ICICI Bank (ICICIBANK, BOM:532174) recorded a sharp growth in its consolidated net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 to 77.19 billion Indian rupees ($1.0 billion) as against 48.86 billion rupees a year ago.
Earnings per share increased to 10.88 rupees compared with 6.93 rupees, according to a Saturday filing.
Total operating income in fiscal Q4 also rose to 249.99 billion rupees from 222.99 billion rupees in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The board of the bank also recommended a dividend of 5 rupees per equity share of face value of 2 rupees each.
