MOTI is an international version of the well-known US-focused ETF, MOAT, by the same issuer. The fund selects companies that, according to Morningstars equity research team, are most attractively-priced companies and have sustainable competitive advantage (a moat). It does so by applying fundamental and price momentum screens to equities from both developed and emerging markets outside the US. The selected companies are equally weighted in the portfolio. This proprietary methodology offers investors an exposure very different from plain-vanilla funds.
