About United States CFNAI Sales Orders and Inventories Index
In the United States, the CFNAI Sales, Orders and Inventories Index refers to the contribution of the sales, orders, and inventories category to the Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI), which is a monthly index designed to gauge overall economic activity. The Sales, Orders and Inventories Index accounts for 22 percent of the CFNAI and includes indicators such as durable goods orders and sales, inventories, and ISM Manufacturing New Orders Index.
