The fund focuses on markets with different business cycles and growth opportunities than North America. The portfolio construction starts by assessing each eligible region based on its economic outlook, including expected growth, market valuations, and economic trends. The fund also considers material ESG factors as well as outlook for sectors and themes and how they relate to these regions, particularly to Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. Each security is then selected based on its intrinsic value, liquidity, and overall portfolio risk. The portfolio is diversified by sector within the regions. The fund may invest up to 10% of its assets in units of mutual funds managed by RBC GAM or its affiliates, up to 10% in a single German ETF (20% in aggregate), and up to 10% in a single UK-listed ETF (20% in aggregate). In addition, the fund may engage in securities lending and use derivatives such as options, futures, and swaps for hedging purposes and as a substitute for direct investment.
