The fund tracks a liquid, broad index that index includes up to 25 commodity futures contracts in the agriculture, energy, livestock, and metals sectors. The broad basket commodity ETN tracks an index with varying contract lengths and roll schedules. The index attempts to embody four main principles in its construction: economic significance, diversification, continuity, and liquidity.
