East West Insurance Co. Ltd. engages in the traditional insurance business in the areas of fire, marine, and motor. It operates through the following business segments: Fire and Property Damage; Marine, Aviation, and Transport; Motor; Engineering; and Miscellaneous. The Fire and Property Damage segment includes damages by fire, riot and strike, explosion, earthquake, atmospheric damages, floods, electrical fluctuation impact and other coverage. The Marine, Aviation, and Transport segment provides insurance coverage against cargo risk, war risk, and damages occurring in inland transport. The Motor segment offers vehicle coverage and indemnity against third party loss. The Engineering segment covers protection against accidental losses during execution of development projects. Engineering segment The Miscellaneous segment provides cover against burglary, loss of cash in safe and in transit, personal accident, and other coverage. The company was founded by Unus Khan in 1983 and is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan.
