The fund primarily invests in US equities selected for their volatility and premium potential. To enhance yield and reduce portfolio volatility, the fund employs a covered call writing strategy, selling call options on its holdings, however, this limits upside gains. These options are written at-the-money or out-of-the-money to balance collecting premiums and maintaining upside potential. The fund also employs leverage, up to about 33% of its net asset value, through borrowing and derivatives, with safeguards in place to keep leverage within target limits. The funds strategies extend to short selling and commodity and other investments. Currency exposure is managed via hedged and unhedged units. The fund may also engage in securities lending to earn extra income.
