The fund provides exposure to an index of strip bonds derived from investment-grade federal and provincial bonds issued by the government of Canada. Eligible securities are to be taken from the FTSE Canada Strip Bond Index, the index universe, and meet a minimum issue size of 50 million CAD. In order to maintain a continuous laddered maturity portfolio, the selected securities are placed into five maturity buckets consisting of five bonds each. The securities are weighted equally in each maturity grouping and will be rebalanced annually in June. The fund is designed for investors with low risk appetite seeking short-term exposure from a portfolio of government bonds domiciled in Canada. Note that government bonds with a term to maturity of up to six years are less volatile thus have lesser risk than bonds with longer maturities.
