The fund seeks to provide quarterly cash distributions and capital appreciation by actively selecting large-cap gold and precious metals companies listed on a North American stock exchange. The fund specifically includes firms involved in the mining, fabrication, processing, and distribution of metals including gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and diamonds. The fund holds a concentrated portfolio of at least 15 companies selected by market-cap, however, adjustments can be made based on the fund advisers view on the firms liquidity and their related call options. Holdings are typically equally weighted, but due to an active approach, weightings may deviate significantly. To generate additional income and lower the overall volatility, the fund employs a covered call option strategy on approx. 25% of the portfolio. Rebalancing usually occurs quarterly, subject to fund advisers discretion. Prior to April 22, 2021, the fund was named CI First Asset Gold+ Giants Covered Call ETF.
