The fund-of-fund primarily invests in large- and mid-cap US stocks. Selection and weighting are based on float-adjusted market capitalization. The fund manager has the discretion in employing a sampling strategy to replicate a subset of the index or at least invest in a manner intended to track the index. Various risk factors, performance attributes, sector, country weights, and other financial metrics are evaluated in selecting securities as part of the sampling. As volatility will have an effect on the funds returns, the fund hedges its non-Canadian exposure to CAD to reduce losses but may also eliminate gains. The index reconstitutes semi-annually and rebalances quarterly.
