The fund actively selects investment grade, short-term bonds issued by Canadian companies that promote positive environmental and social impact, and/or contribute to sustainable development. The fund primarily selects debt securities that have a credit rating of at least BBB- (as established by Standard & Poors Rating Services) and a maturity of five years or less. Constituents are selected using a bottom-up approach, including a combination of credit analysis and ESG screens based on widely recognized guidelines, principles and/or sustainable development goals. ESG issues are assessed using relevant indicators that vary from one sector to another. The fund then utilizes a top-down approach to manage the overall risk of the portfolio. The fund may invest up to 10% of its net assets in high yield bonds and up to 10% in foreign securities. Derivatives such as options, futures, forwards, and swaps may be used for hedging and non-hedging purposes.
