The fund passively offers exposure to the US communication services sector, which was defined by the September 2018 changes to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). To replicate the performance of the underlying index, the fund substantially invests all of its assets in another ETF, XLC-US. The index includes all US large-cap members of the former telecom sector (expanded to include internet service providers), as well as media & entertainment companies previously classified in the consumer discretionary or tech sectors. As part of the S&P Select Sector Index suite, the index draws its holdings from the S&P 500 Index. Holdings are weighted by market capitalization, subject to a capping methodology that ensures no single security exceeds 25% at each quarterly rebalance.
