Dow Jone ในช่าง 1960-1963 เกิดการพักตัวลงขา C ลง 5 คลื่นในรูปแบบ Bearish Truncate Fifth หรือเวฟ 5 สั้น สั้นระดับที่ไม่สามารถผ่านปลายเวฟ 3 ไปได้ ทำให้บางตำรารูปแบบนี้ถูกเรียกว่า 5th Wave Failure
Bearish Truncate Fifth คือพฤติกรรมของราคาที่เวฟ 5 ไม่สามารถทำ New Low ได้ บงบอก Supply ของปลายชุดคลื่นนี้อ่อนแรงมากแล้ว อาการหลังการจบชุดคลื่น Truncate Fifth หรือ 5th Wave Failure จึงเป็นลักษณะของการดีดตัวอย่างรุนแรง เพราะแทบไม่มีแรงต้านจาก Supply เหลืออยู่แล้ว
