India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 10:00 a.m. IST

STOCKS:

The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX fell 196.39 points, or 0.27%, to 73,809.55, while the broader NSE index NIFTY lost 37.45 points, or 0.17%, to 22,464.55 weighed by losses in heavyweight financial and information technology stocks.

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee USDINR strengthened 0.01% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 83.33 per dollar, with traders expecting equity outflows and importer dollar demand to cap gains.

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

The benchmark 10-year bond (IN071833G=CC) was quoted at 100.62 rupees, with the yield down 1 bps at 7.0850%, as a rise in U.S. bond yields offset the impact of reduction in supply of shorter-dated securities.

OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:

The one-year overnight index swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was up 2 bps at 6.79%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) rose 1 bps to 6.39%.

CALL MONEY/REPOS:

India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was up 70 bps at 6.80%. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.73%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.7100%.
