BE Semiconductor posts Q1 orders below expectations

Dutch chipmaking parts supplier BE Semiconductor Industries BESI (Besi) missed expectations for quarterly new orders on Thursday, citing weakness in the mainstream assembly markets, particularly for smartphone and automotive applications.

The chip assembly equipment maker's order bookings fell to 128 million euros ($137 million) in the first three months of 2024, compared to a consensus estimate of 186 million euros cited by Visible Alpha analysts.
