CAP SA engages in the mining of iron ore and the production of steel products. The firm produces and exports iron ore and pellets. It operates its business through the following business divisions: Mining, Steel Production, Steel Processing, Infrastructure, and Holding. The Mining division involves in the extraction of iron ore and its subsequent processing, and also internal and external sale. The Steel Production division focuses on the production of finished steel from production of liquid steel by reduction of iron ore in blast furnaces. The Steel Processing division refers to the creation of steel solutions for the construction industry and infrastructure sectors in Chile and abroad. The Infrastructure division develops its business solutions through its subsidiaries. The Holding division refers to operation of corporate management center. The company was founded by Juan Antonio Rios on April 27, 1946 and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.
