It operates through the following segments: Alpek, Sigma, and Others. The Alpek segment operates in the petrochemical and synthetic fibers industry, and its revenues are derived from sales of its primary products: polyester, plastics, and chemicals. The Sigma segment engages in the refrigerated food sector and its revenues are derived from sales of its main products: deli meats, dairy, and other processed foods. The Other segments includes all other companies operating in business services and others, which are non-reportable segments. The company was founded by Roberto Garza Sada on June 9, 1974 and is headquartered in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico.
