In Chile, the main components of the consumer price index are: Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (19 percent of the total weight); Housing and Basic Services for 15 percent; Transportation for 13 percent; Health for 8 percent; Education for 7; Recreation and Culture for 7; Household Equipment and Maintenance for 7 percent and Restaurant and Hotels account for 6 percent. Others include: Communication (5 percent); Miscellaneous Goods and Services (5 percent); Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (5 percent) and Clothing and Footwear (4 percent). The national index has a base of 100 as of 2018.
