AG Insurance SA is the insurance subsidiary of Ageas NV (BSE: AGS) in The Netherlands. Formerly known as Fortis Insurance Belgium S.A./N.V., created in 2006 when Fortis AG and FB Assurances merged, the firm originated in 1824 as Assurances Générales. They changed their name to AG Insurance in 2009. Based in Brussels, AG Insurance provides a range of insurance products including life, disability, medical, accident, long term disability, hospital and surgical insurance, which they distribute through a variety of channels.
