Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP) is a public company owned by the State of Chile. ENAP’s main line of business is the exploration, production, refining and marketing of hydrocarbons and their by-products. It was created by Organic Law No. 9,618 of Empresa Nacional del Petróleo, dated June 19, 1950. It operates as a commercial company, under a public law juridical regime and is autonomously managed. ENAP participates in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons through its subsidiary Enap Sipetrol S.A. and in the refining, transportation, storage, and marketing of petroleum-based products through Enap Refinerías S.A. ENAP carries out its activities and operations in five countries: Chile, Argentina and Egypt. The Head Office is located in Santiago, Chile.
