GOLD prices were closed at $1793.50 after reaching a high of $1804.40 and a low of $1783.10. Gold extended its loss for the fourth consecutive session on the back of strength in the U.S. dollar. The U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the greenback’s value against a basket of six major currencies, surged for a second consecutive session on Wednesday and reached the 92.86 level.
