Above 18000! Will it sustain or not?We are up to the 2nd week of expiry and the nifty is above 18000. On Monday, Nifty opened with a gap up and gave a good up move and closed just above 18,000. Today it sustained the 18000 consolidation between 100 points. It's encouraging to see that more bull runs or breaks below 18,000 are on the way. Because we know there is a lot of data on the way, we can expect a move accordingly. I do think overnight aggressive positioning is a good idea. We have an important line to watch above 18200. Well, below 17900, I kept a close look at the lines and today 18020 was respected. Let's see where it opens tomorrow.
When it comes to my weekly option selling, I have 17600 PE and 18350 PE. I entered an intraday short straddle on Monday now that it is bright and sunny. I already have my overall P & L in nearly 1% red this month, so I'm not confident about carrying it till Thursday. I hope to exit at 0.5%+Tomorrow, planning to take a fresh entry on Thursday to end up flat this week. I am excited to see where Nifty opens on Thursday.
ONGC, result based buyingCrude prices has been continuously rising, and the immediate benefactor is the natural gas. With tremendous pressure on energy global supply chains gas companies are struggling to fulfil the outgoing demand. ONGC, which has also seen a hike in gas prices have reported record profits for this quarter.
I have been bullish on ONGC since 110/- levels. And the reasons are:
1. Shift towards green energy resources. (makes gas and immediate substitute for both domestic and commercial purposes)
2. European winters and Chinese intervention. (global pressure on gas prices)
3. improved administration of the company.
4. consistent increase in both onshore and offshore revenues
Technically after breaking out from a very long parallel channel, it has retested the crucial and psychological level of ₹150/-. With CMP 154, the stock should again touch the recent highs of ₹172/-.
It is also giving a dividend of ₹5.5/- which makes it more attractive even at higher valuations.
One can buy with an SL of ₹145/- (result might make stock volatile) for Target of ₹170/- and above.
Do You Buy after Good result in a stock? Must See this -AXISBANKSTOCK MARKET MYTHS -
There are many misconceptions people have about how stock market works and how it actually works. In this series we burst these myths or clear misconceptions so people can make wiser decisions in trading/investing.
Myth Number 1- A stock will go up after good result.
Reality - A stock may fall big even after very good results. Taking decision based on this information give you no edge and you will loose over long term. Big market picture is always given highest priority and buying/selling decision should be taken on this.
Example - AXIS BANK, declared results on 26th October, highest ever quarterly profit. Next day - instead of up move fall of 6%.
I too had this misconception earlier so please comment if you too thought same now or at some point of time. :)

Stock Analysis of Gravita India Ltd.Price - 218.75 Dt. - 29.10.2021
Since 17th Aug. stock is facing resistance at 219 levels. On 29th Oct. stock tried to break the level but failed and closed at @218.75 with higher than average volume.
The stock also performed well when all indices decided to close in red. Looking at the buying volume we can safely say that the traders are expecting a good quarterly result which is scheduled to declare on 1st Nov.
If stock is above the 219 levels on Monday then it can give a good return in the short term. A good return is dependent on the company result, so keep the SL before initiating the trade.
BANK NIFTY AT A SUPPLY ZONE. DEPENDS ON THE RESULTS.Bank nifty is near its swing high, it may take a correction or take out the supply zone with the short covering moves.
Here we analyze the PSU bank index, Private bank index, and ICICI bank to see what could be the scenario on Monday.
Today, we have ICICI bank's results which decide the Bank Nifty's run.
In the above image of the PSU bank index, we can see that the breakout has yet to happen. The breakout point is B. The supply zone is also 5% away from the breakout point.
Anyways, the PSU bank index won't be of much help as PVT bank contribution in Bank Nifty is nearly 87% and SBI alone from the PSU bank sector contributes nearly 12.5%
Out Private bank sector, ICICI is the second-highest contributor with nearly 21%. It is important for us to know where the PVT bank sector index and ICICI bank are standing right now.
In the above image of PVT bank index, we can see it is almost at the supply zone. It is very critical to have good results or else shorts could enter here.
Here's the ICICI bank index, it is trading above the monthly crab pattern's terminal price. Here it could be dangerous either for the longs or shorts. A rapid movement could come in any direction.
ICICI results could play an important on Monday but there would be other private banks that could cover the loss by reaching the expectations in case ICICI fails.
This is just my analysis and for educational purposes.
Reliance Industries tests the demand zone before the results dayReliance Industries are out tomorrow. The stock has fallen more than 3% to test the potential reversal zone of the harmonic pattern XABCD or the demand zone.
As we can see, in the last hour price has bounced off the zone with good volumes. The price has to stay above this zone or else it could test 2500 or even lower by the long unwinding. If sustained above the zone, could even take out the ATH.
Shark patterns often come when the corrections are sudden and deep, which is perfectly suited in this case.
Maintain strict stoplosses though.
Happy trading :)

Infosys Q2 results based strategies INFOSYS Q2 RESULT BASED STRATEGIES
The IT heavyweight is scheduled to declare its results tomorrow. However, I am not sure at what time the results are likely to be declared so am creating the strategy now itself and have this post cum video explaining the basis on which I have created the strategy only for the purposes of tracking I have not taken a position. If I do take, I will let you know.
Infosys has been behaving in a very unusual manner for quite some time. Either it goes up quickly and then abruptly falls and then goes in to a drifting mode then leading to consolidation. I have traded Long Only options in the scrip and have gained good ROI. However, for the last few weeks I have stayed away from all IT scrips in Options as the behavior is not something that I like to trade.
Infosys Spot is at 1673 when I am writing this post so my strategies would be based on the same. Please watch the video to know the workings related to the strategy.
TCS Strategy creation explained ahead of its resultsIn this video, I share how I have created in excel TCS Bull Call Spread and TCS ATM Short Straddle.
I have explained all that is needed for the purpose of creating the strategies.
Please note that I may / may not execute the trade depending upon how the funds position is closer to the day end.
If you have liked the video, please let me know and if you feel something else needs to be included, please feedback on the same.
Best wishes,
Umesh
