It operates through the following business segments: Rubber, Tyre, Plastic and Furniture, Retail, Financial Services, Other Services, and Plantations. The Rubber segment refers to the manufacturing of mattresses, pillows, latex rings, crutch tips, shoe soles, and jar rings. The Tyre segment manufactures retreaded tyres for light and heavy commercial vehicles, re-manufactured radial tyres, tubes and flaps, trading in tubes, flaps, and new tyres. The Plastic and Furniture segment is involved in manufacturing, trading, and distribution of an array of plastic, rubber, and electrical products. The Retail segment operates Arpico Supercentres, Superstores, Arpico Dailys, and showrooms, which produces consumer goods, household goods, apparel, furniture, and electronics. The Financial Services segment provides real estate, insurance, freight forwarding, and stock broking, margin trading and financial services. The Plantations segment cultivates tea, rubber, oil palm, coconut, cinnamon, rambutan, and other crops. The company was founded on September 5, 1932 and is headquartered in Maharagama, Sri Lanka.
