Straits Energy Resources Bhd. is an investment holding company, which engages in the provision of management services. It operates through the following segments: Investment and Holding Management Services, Oil Bunkering and Shipping Related Services, Inland Transportation Services, Port Management and Facility Management Services, STS Operation Services, Telecommunication Network Services, and Others. The Oil Bunkering and Shipping Services segment refers to includes oil trading and bunkering services and its ancillary support services such as vessels management services, chartering services, and shipping agency services. The Inland Transportation Services segment transports cement and related products. The STS Operation Services segment includes cargo transfer operations between two seagoing vessels. The Port Operation and Facility Management Services segment carries out port operation such as mooring, unmooring, berthing of vessels, cargo handling charges, storage charges, container lifting charges, use of yard for stuffing and un-stuffing. The Telecommunication and Network Services segment provides solutions, dealing with all kinds of products and services in telecommunication from infrastructure, networking, maintenance, software, hardware, and related services. The Others segment refers to dormant subsidiaries. The company was founded on December 4, 1996 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
