Optomed Oyj engages in the provision of handheld fundus cameras and eye-screening solutions. It operates through the Devices and Software segments. The Devices segment develops, commercializes and manufactures handheld fundus cameras that are suitable for any clinic for screening of various eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, gakucoma and Age Related Mascular Degeneration. The Software segment develops and commercializes screening software for diabetic retinopathy and cancer screening for healthcare organizations. The company was founded by Seppo Henrik Kopsala on December 20, 2004 and is headquartered in Oulu, Finland.
