Shift from PVC Resin to PVC Pipes
FIL is shifting its focus to PVC pipes from PVC resin sales by increasing its captive PVC resin consumption. FIL’s share of captive consumption, which had moderated to 68% in FY21, increased to 75% in FY22 (FY20: 75%, FY19: 74%, FY12: 39%) with a recovery in pipe volumes. With increased demand from the pipe segment, management intends to ramp up utilisation (FY22: 65%, FY21: 57%, FY20: 71%) of P&F capacity over the medium term.
