NIFTY ENDS BELOW 12,000 RBI MAY CUT INTEREST RATES UPCOMING MPC
[Equity benchmarks fell on Tuesday in line with other global stock markets as investors worried after the US decision to impose tariffs on Argentina and brazil, concern about india's slowing economic growth, finally investors were also cautious ahead of the central bank's monetary policy outcome on Thursday, 5 December 2019
The barometer index, the BSE Sensex, fell 126.72 points or 0.31% to 40,675.45. The Nifty 50 index fell 54 points or 0.45% to 11,994.20, In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell 0.95% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index fell 0.74%. Both these indices underperformed the Sensex.
RBI MPC schedule: 3,4,5th Dec-2019
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das-headed Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Tuesday started its three-day deliberations on the policy review amid high expectations of another round of reduction in the key policy rate to revive the sagging economy. If the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cuts the repo rate on Thursday, it would be the sixth reduction in the short-term lending rate in 2019. "The MPC will meet during December 3 to 5, 2019 for the fifth bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2019-20” a release by central bank said.
