今年は非常に恐怖指数ＶＩＸが年間通して高く、本来であればトレード停止期間は非常に長期間となる。11月末より久しぶりに２０を割ってきたが、同じように２０を割っていた期間は、3月後半の数日間と8月前半の数日間だけとほんの僅かである。このボラの高い状況でトレーダーは苦難を強いられた人は多く、一方では大儲け、ほとんどが大敗であろうと思われる。
