Romania Stock Exchange, also known as Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), is the primary equities market operating in Romania and a competitive capital market in Central-Eastern Europe. It was established in 1882 and re-established as a public interest institution in 1995. In 2005, BVB turned into a joint-stock company. Shares are distributed to brokerage firms active at the time of demutualization. The exchange is subject to regulation by the Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), which sets the operational principles of the capital markets in Romania, as well as the rules applied to the market and system operators, listed companies, and investment funds.

The exchange lists around 82 companies with an approximate market capitalization of USD 32 Billion. Some of the largest traded companies are OMV Petrom S.A., S.N.G.N Romgaz Medias, Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca, S.N. Nuclearelcrica S.A and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale Bucuresti. Bucharest Stock Exchange has been part of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative since 2015.
